An elegant Italian Grand Tour 19th or early 20th century neo-classical center table. Having monopodium tri-pod carved carrara marble base with center arch supporting a solid 3.25″ thick verde marble top, polished finish and alluring rich veining.  Each leg having an intricately carved lion head, mane, acanthus leaf detail and bent legs terminate below in toed paws on a stepped plinth. 

monopodium: A decorative support used on tables and chairs, consisting of the head and one leg of an animal, usually a lion. The monopodium was first seen in Roman furniture, and was revived by late 18th century neoclassical designers such as Thomas Hope.

Measures: 42.75″ Diameter x 36″H . Each leg measures appx 8″W
