Four 19th-century carved brownstone staddle stones in excellent antique condition. Each staddle stone comprises a tapered base and a substantial round top. Staddle stones were used as supporting stones to lift granaries off the ground. The elevation protected the grain from water and animals. Each stone has a weathered surface with natural patina consistent with age. Priced and sold as a set. An RT Facts find.
