A remarkable pair of early 18th century Portuguese colonial period carved teak columns with doric-style capitals and twisting acanthus motif ascending from carved putti holding shells overhead. In good antique condition; there is some age-related loss at the bases and some splitting throughout but each column remains solid and freestanding. Ironwood is one of the densest woods in the world and each column is subsequently of substantial weight. Priced and sold as a pair. An RT Facts find.
