A rare cast zinc figure of Diana the Huntress by J.W. Fiske & Company, New York, Circa 1892-1900. Diana is often depicted with a hunting dog, as she is here, as a loyal companion, symbolizing her connection to the wild and her role as a skilled huntress. Joseph Winn Fiske established the company J. W. Fiske Ironworks in New York in 1858. Considered one of the most important foundries in the USA, it was based at various addresses around New York City and made all varieties of ornamental ironwork throughout its prolific production which ceased in 1933.
