A spectacular pair of Anglo-Indian roundabout chairs crafted from solid ebony, featuring boldly turned barley-twist supports, carved splats, and sweeping horseshoe-form crest rails terminating in foliate-carved handholds. Raised on cabriole legs joined by turned stretchers, the chairs retain upholstered seat cushions in a later geometric fabric. The ebony construction and exuberant carving exemplify the distinctive blend of English form and Indian craftsmanship characteristic of 19th-century Anglo-Indian furniture. Sold as a pair.
