A pair of George III painted armchairs with shaped crest rails above openwork backs composed of slender splats and carved swag decoration. The sweeping arms flank woven rush seats, raised on square tapered legs. Finished in old black paint with foliate and scrolling decoration throughout. In good antique condition; some loose rush on the undersides which do not effect strength or stability and surface loss consistent with age.
