A spectacular pair of 18th-century Italian travertine garden finials, each composed of two pieces, with carved stone spheres resting atop plinth bases and secured by iron rods. Beautifully weathered from centuries outdoors, each finial is heavily patinated with lichen and moss, giving the surfaces remarkable texture and depth.
Travertine is a naturally porous limestone formed by mineral-rich spring water, its distinctive cavities and pitted surface created over time as trapped gases escaped during formation. These finials would make striking focal points in a garden or landscape setting. Priced and sold as a pair. An RT Facts find.
