A magnificent 19th-century French cast iron sculpture modeled after the “Borghese Gladiator” which stands in the Louvre. It stands on a three-piece marble, monumental solid marble base. The original by Agasias is a Hellenistic life-size marble sculpture that dates around the fourth century BC. Age has given this sculpture a rich brown and green patina with some surface rust present.
