Early 20th century English elm garden chair with slatted back and seat, shaped arms, and turned ball finials. Retains a rich weathered surface throughout with a solid, architectural form. Brass plaque affixed to the frame reads: “Made from timber taken from H.M.S. Collingwood,” the Royal Navy battleship broken up at Blyth, Northumberland. A well made and unusually storied garden chair with strong provenance. In very good antique condition; some surface wear consistent with age but sturdy and ready for indoor or outdoor use.
