A remarkable 18th-century English hand-carved pine Georgian mantelpiece with intricately carved reliefs. The central panel features figures in a classical scene depicting two woman paying tribute to their husbands, who fell in battle, around a fire. The scene is flanked by panels adorned with flora. Each side features a Corinthian column with carved capitals topped with urns. In very good antique condition with minor wear consistent with age.
