A late 19th-century cast-iron bookcase of the American Victorian period, circa 1880. The bookcase stands just over four feet tall and consists of four tiers, each divided into four sections for holding books or other printed materials. Each shelf is perforated with large holes and is painted in an oxblood color. The top and base are painted black and adorned with gold pin-striping and stenciling. Each level can rotate around the central post of the base. It is in good antique condition.
