A 19th century English oak Glastonbury chair with a broad panelled back centered by a pierced quatrefoil, shaped scrolling arms, and an X-form base joined by a stretcher. The frame is further detailed with carved floral motifs and pierced trefoil and geometric decoration throughout.
Constructed with exposed pegged joinery, the chair has a warm, patinated surface and strong motifs of the Gothic Revival. In good antique condition consistent with age and use, with scattered surface wear, scratches, and minor losses throughout. An RT Facts find.
