A 19th C. carved marble Venus Italica after the Antonio Canova's masterpiece in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. The sculpture depicts the goddess Venus emerging from her bath, caught in a moment of modesty. She twists her body in a contrapposto pose and covers her body with her hands and a piece of drapery. This particular sculpture is in very good antique condition; the only minor loss is on the base (see photos). The white white marble glows in the sunlight. An RT Facts find.
