A George I joined and boarded oak wing armchair or lambing-chair with high-paneled backrest and short angled wings. The form, with wide armrests and canted back is surprisingly comfortable.

Lambing chairs were used by Shepards in northern England, like the Lancashire and Yorkshire Dales, to care for newborn lambs during lambing season. The angled wings and high back protected the sitter from the winds. In good antique conation with wear consistent with age and use; there is a small separation to the top of the right wing. An RT Facts find.
