What becomes a legend most?

What becomes a legend most?

For a milestone anniversary of our Bullseye Mirror, we took some liberties imagining it in this iconic Blackglama ad campaign.

(Apologies to Richard Avedon)

For those of you below a certain age, Jane Trahey created one of the most successful ad campaigns of all time for Blackglama. A photo of a new icon was released into the magazines every year starting in 1968. Bette Davis, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, Julie Andrews, Raquel Welch, Lauren Bacall, Diana Ross, Cindy Crawford and Janet Jackson, among others were tapped to be the Blackglama darling of the year.

Our Bullseye Mirror was inspired by a set of beautiful glass rosettes discovered on a buying trip years back. Natalie immediately thought "These would be beautiful in the corners of a mirror!" and got right to work on a design that would let them shine. The Bullseye Mirror was born. The rectangle shape was first, followed by the round, octagon and the elongated octagon. Since then, the Octagonal Bullseye Mirror has become a best seller and quite possibly our most iconic design.
