A rare and stunning garden set comprised of Karl Friedrich Schinkel Cast Iron Garden Chairs and a cast iron 19th Century Swedish, Fantasy Era, Cast Iron Zodiac Astrological Garden Table.
Schinkel chairs were designed for Pussian royal residences and gardens in the early to mid 19th century. Two scenes on the back splats of each bench depict a lyre and two putti. Further decorative elements are incorporated into the frame. Having anthemion throughout with rams head arm rests and cloven hoof feet. Significant patina.
The Zodiac table is so named for the inclusion of the 12 signs of the zodiac in the highly detailed top. Both the top and base are highly ornamented, with the 12 signs on the top, and a tiered base design.
