Pair of 19th Century Karl Friedrich Schinkel Cast Iron Garden Benches
A very rare pair of Neoclassical style cast iron garden benches by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Designed for Pussian royal residences and gardens in the early to mid 19th century. Two scenes on the back splats of each bench depict a lyre and two putti. Further decorative elements are incorporated into the frame. Having anthemion throughout with rams head arm rests and cloven hoof feet. Significant patina. Suitable for outdoor use. United States. Priced and sold as a pair.
