Large Anatomical Écorché Plaster Figure

A large anatomical écorché male figure in plaster. France, circa 1900. Rare due to its large size at nearly 5′ tall. An excellent casting once used in a French art school. The term écorché literally means “flayed.” These sculptures depict the muscles and anatomy of the body and were traditionally used in training artists in figure drawing. Various cracks and repairs with some minor losses. Overall stable condition. For indoor use only.
